Remember when I talked to you a bit about my results from resolution number two?
Well, I submitted my results with the company, and I got a free t-shirt!!! how awesome is that??! and the best part about it is the t-shirt is a MEDIUM. yup, that's right. a medium.

By the way, my hair, as you must have noticed, is really drab. Any suggestions?

Result of resolution number two - part one

If you've been reading my blog for a while (well, since the beginning of 2013), you likely would have read my posts about my 2013 resolutions. Really, I have only two. The first one was to get organized. Honestly, who doesn't, right?

I also wrote about my second resolution: to lose weight and get fit. In that blog post, I had stated that I was about to start on a "cleanse" called the Ultimate Reset. And this is my results post (see? I can follow through!).

Here are my results in a nutshell:

I lost 10 pounds and went down a pant size. WOO-HOO! Here are the details of what I did.
This reset was 21 days, so three weeks. The program came with everything you needed plus a meal plan for each day! To be completely honest, I didn't follow it to the letter, but I was in the ball park of what I needed to eat. I wrote my review of each of the weeks on a fitness blog, which is kind of cool!

If you're interested in knowing more about this Ultimate Reset, please contact me, and I'll tell you all about it!

Now, at the end of the resolutions post, I claimed that I was going to start the workout program called Insanity. So yeah, I'm not doing it. But that's because I was invited to a workout challenge group, and we're doing a workout program called TurboFire. And I LOVE TurboFire! The workouts still totally whup my butt (and yes, I'm aware of the spelling issue there, but I like whup better than whoop), but I'm getting such a good workout! I've only been doing it for just over a week, and Jeff told me that he's already seeing some tightening of my rear end situation (if you know what I mean), so that's SUPER!!!

But now that I'm a part of a workout challenge group (it's on Facebook), I'm "in", so if you're interested in participating, let me know, and I can totally hook you up! (Yeah, I'm that cool). Honestly, though, I love the support and motivation I'm getting from this group. Because even though it's online, we keep each other accountable for each day's workout, and everyone is so pumped about setting and reaching their goals - it's just such a great environment!

Anyhoo. 'Nuff said. Later, dudes (and dude-ettes).

Around the House :: Organizing the Fridge

I don't know about you, but my fridge is CONSTANTLY disorganized, and everything is everywhere - there is no semblance of order at all. And in my resolution to be more organized, that definitely meant the fridge.

I was meandering through Pinterest (LOVE!!), and I happened upon this picture. And silly me, I can't find the pin, so maybe I just uploaded the picture without re-pinning. So if you know the link to the source of this image, please let me know, and I will add it pronto!

Now granted, my fridge doesn't have that many shelves. It has three shelves. And we have kids who LOVE to drink apple juice, so we usually have 2 jars of apple juice in the fridge at all times (well, when it's on sale).

But I'm going to give it a try. Here is what our fridge looks like now:

As you can see, this organization tool isn't as helpful as I wanted it to be. I don't think my fridge could be as clean as the one pictured in the pin. For starters, look at the milk that we have in there; it practically takes up half of the bottom shelf! And we have TONS of fresh vegetables. There are grapes in the bottom drawer, but the rest is vegetables. And you see the yogurt on the second shelf? Those cases of yogurt go all the way to the back of the fridge - Costco is really great for bulk!

Perhaps if I lived on my own - with no husband or kids to change things around without caring about where they are supposed to go - this fridge would still be properly organized, but still not like the first picture. But I don't, so this is my reality.

I hope my experience has helped you decide if you plan to reorganize your fridge.
Remember: it doesn't have to match the picture completely, it just has to be organized in a way that will work for you.

2013 Resolution Number Two :: Does it Fit?

This has got to be the most common resolution, hasn't it? I mean, who doesn't want to lose weight, get fit and live a healthier lifestyle? For me, I want to hit 150 lbs, which means I have about 38 lbs to go.

This is something that Jeff and I were doing in 2012. We have already mostly cleaned up our diet (no pop, processed foods, in particular), and we worked through P90X (except for when we were sick). I have lost 15 lbs doing that (this is including all the "Christmas eating"). In October, Jeffery and I also started taking Shakeology as our breakfast, which has helped quite a lot in our alertness and energy levels throughout the day.

And since we have had such great success with that, I am using another product by Beachbody called The Ultimate Reset. It's a 21 day program that helps restore the pH balance in your body (week 1), release the toxins in your body (week 2), and restore your metabolism and the workings of your innards to what they are supposed to be (week 3). I actually started it yesterday. I'm really excited because since I was sick in November, I have felt sluggish and yucky and just "wrong", if that makes sense. Physically I am fine, but I feel like I need to cleanse myself. So here is my attempt.

After I'm done the reset, I will be embarking on that perilous journey of working out. I will be doing Insanity - a 60 day intense workout program. I am actually pretty scared about doing it, since it's such an intense program, but my health is worth this investment of time and focus.

See? That looks like something only a crazy person will do. But it's mostly cardio, and I need that to get rid of my "jiggly bits." Wish me luck, and I will let you know the results.

2013 Resolution Number One :: Organize

RESOLUTION #1 :: ORGANIZE

I would love to be able to know exactly where everything is in my craft space. Right now, I have all my utensils in one holder, all bunched together. I would like to be able to take one look and see what I have.

I have been drooling over this for a while now. I have grown out of space on the one that I made, and this jewellery holder looks like it will fit everything, not just my dangly earrings; also my studs, bracelets, necklaces and pendants. ME WANT!!

I already have purchased this set of little hanging baskets, and I use them for the little tiny supplies that I need to keep in one spot, without having to worry about where they are hiding next. I do need another set, though, which is why these are on my list.

This looks awesome.

A great way to tell everyone what we're having for dinner. But since I work full-time, it's Jeff who would be filling this out. And would he? Probably not. And if he did, would I be able to read what he wrote? Probably not. But it's really pretty.

What are your 2013 resolutions?
