I was going through my favourites on my Etsy account, and I'm finding that I have returned to loving the rustic, neutrals that I loved once upon a time! Here are some recent favourites:

This week my favourites have been pretty random. I see a pretty picture, I like it. I see an interesting concept, I like it. lol. Scatter-brained much?

I gathered each of these items into my favourites on Etsy in about 5 minutes. I like searching my activity feed and the newly listed area to find awesome items.

It snowed only last night, but I really think that spring is almost here! Call it a gut feeling.

Now that spring is here, I have to look at updating my accessories. I don't want to update my wardrobe until I get to my goal weight, so I'm sticking with accessories. Beside, they are much more fun!

I already have an Ika Bag, and I LOVE IT!!! I have to get another one for warmer weather, since the one I have is tweed/wool.

I also already have a few cowls from Sew Ecological, but I just LOVE this one! It's actually in my checkout cart right now...

This flower pendant is beautiful! Another item in my cart...

I already am wearing flats for casual days at work, and they are so comfy! And these certainly look comfy too!

I love the tuplips in the basket, and the basket itself is such a unique shape...

Turquoise is such a great colour - for all seasons!  It is paired up really well with white and green for spring, red and white for summer, orange and brown for autumn, and black and browns for winter! It's a great all year colour!!! My favourites have been piling up with turquoise items, and I thought I'd share them with you:

1. Turquoise Sundress - oh, how I want this for summer!!
2. Turquoise Octopus - How cute is this little octopus!!?
3. Ceramic Dinner Plates - I love how they are not all uniform; each has its own personality!
4. Earring Stud Collection - Three sets of earrings in one listing! BOOM!

I've been feeling slightly unmotivated lately, and nothing stirs the creative juices better than looking at other people's work - seeing their creativity and their drive. Here are a few items from my favourites:

1. Champagne Dress - The photography of this piece is absolutely beautiful! I like the sleeves too.

2. Ginkgo Leaf Brass Necklace - I like the simplicity and minimal-ness of this piece - and elegant and simple accessory.

3. Reclaimed Barn Wood Serving Tray - I love everything about this piece - the size, the colour of the wood, and especially the handles!

4. Mini Ceramic Houses - really, anything to do with pottery, I LOVE.

I find I'm really liking rustic, woodsy things. Perhaps this is because when I'm in that environment, that is when I am the most calm and relaxed. So here are a few more from my favourites:

Burnt Orange Infinity Scarf - I LOVE the orange colour!

Oversized Tote - I really like the simplicity of this bag.

Reclaimed Wood Vases - So pretty!

Rustic Chalkboard - I can totally see where this would go in our home!

One of my favourite things about winter is all the accessories you can use to keep you warm. Here are some of my favourites:
This woman looks like she's about to fall over, the scarf looks so heavy!

I can see these being used as bridesmaids gloves in a winter wedding.

These look so comfy!

Poofy hats look much warmer than normal hats, I wonder if it's true...

Working in my industry (accounting) can be really stressful, especially this time of the year. I am processing T4s for our clients (a W-2, for my American readers), and this is the first year I'm doing it; and honestly, I'm not sure why I'm even doing it. At the end of every day, I feel like my brain is going to implode, and some of the time, I just want to lay down and cry. But I can't completely complain. The end of February will end soon, and then comes the two months of the T1s (the individual tax returns). I'm assuming my brain will be able to take a rest at that point, since I'm assembling them, not processing them - I am an Administrative Assistant, after all.

Anyway, after all of that, I need to just relax and rest my brain. And these are the kinds of images I have been collecting recently. And I noticed that many of these images (well, okay, all of them) are really rustic. I think I found my "style".

1. Bathtub Caddy - This is lovely, but I can't honestly see myself using them, because I can't sit still long enough to just lay in the tub. Unless maybe I had some tea and a good book. Then the caddy would be necessary.

2. Mint heart magnets - I just love the colour, and the pattern on the hearts. so darling!

3. Rustic Serving Tray - I would love to receive breakfast in bed on this tray. Okay, maybe when we have no kids in the house, or at least once they are old enough to want to sleep in...

4. "Platform by the sea" original painting - I love everything about this painting: the wood floors, the gorgeous colours of the waves... beautiful!

5. Carlson Skirt - This entire picture just oozes "calm" to me. Just sitting back, with your legs over the arm of the chair; possibly napping or just relaxing while contemplating the deeper things in life...

6. Antique Wood Boat - I can totally imagine Jeff and I slowly floating down the river in this boat (if it were bigger), with Jeff paddling, and me with one hand in the water, tracing the ripples that the edges of the boat makes as we drift down the lazy river... mmm....

7. The Lather's Bed - It looks so comfy and rustic and cozy; I just want to sink into its covers and drown into sweet unconsciousness (sleep)...

The freshly fallen snow is so lovely to see. You know, before the cars drive over it, and people walk over it, and dogs poop in it, and it becomes a gross pile of slush.

My favourites this week, I'm finding, are full of colour! Can you tell? I can't wait for spring!!

1. Vintage Boots - I like how simple they are; but they are not my size. :(

2. Golden Yellow Yarn - This fleece is so bright and beautiful. And the fact that it was hand-spun, then dyed using local fungi makes me want it all the more!

3. Soap - I love this picture; it's so rustic and charming!

4. Flower Stud Earrings - These would definitely be a staple in my wardrobe!

5. Wooden Dutch Clogs - I know these are sold, but I would have loved to have them! It's a part of my heritage, and that's important to me. (Even though I already have some antique clogs...)

6. Tablecloth - This cloth makes me want to have table cloths!

7. Sweater - Just think about how holey I would be!! Get it? Holey? lol Yeah, I'm a geek.

What's in your favourites?

One of my very favourite things about winter and colder weather is the fireplaces that you can utilize to get warm - especially after being in the cold, with your cheeks all rosy and your breath is coming out in white puffs, and your fingers just getting cold under the warm woolen mittens.... That paints a really nice picture to me. Snuggle up to the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate. Maybe get out a good book and relax for a while. *sigh*

Jeffery brought some flowers home for me the other day. How sweet is that!?
(can you tell I don't get flowers often?)

Honestly, though, getting flowers not too often are not a bad thing. You know how people have green thumbs? Well, I have a brown thumb. All plants I have ever owned have died slow and painful deaths. I'm very glad that plants don't have feelings - cause then I would feel bad.

Valentine's Day is around the corner, and although I LOVE a good bunch of flowers, I can't help but find it to be rather pointless if they are given to me. They will just die. And I realized, as I was perusing my favourites on Etsy, that I really like faux flowers. probably because they can't die.

1. Paper Roses - I've had these in my favourites for a LONG time. These would look so great in my craft space!

2. Felt Flower - I just love the colours in this flower.

3. Silk Flower Brooch - The way the silk is folded into this flower looks so graceful and opulent.

4. Porcelain Bouquet - This is just plain beautiful!

5. Metal Flower Bouquet - I would like these for in my kitchen.

6. Red Paper Flower Bow - I like the two-fold purpose of this: a flower and a bow (you know, to put on a present).

How to keep warm this winter :: head and ears

Keep your head warm. Ears, especially. Maybe it's just me, but when it's even just a slightly cool breeze, I have to have my ears covered, or they will hurt and get so cold, so quickly. Here are some awesome ways to keep your head (and ears!) warm.

I really enjoy sharing the things that I love. Here are a few more items from my favourites on Etsy:

1. Ceramic Mug - This mug is so pretty! I love the teal and the bohemian pattern. Too bad it's sold.

2. Ceramic Heart Bowl - This is also really pretty. I would like to put mints in it for when we are entertaining. I mean, who doesn't like mints in a heart-shaped bowl?

3. Lingerie - I don't know why, but I'm feeling a lot more confident in my self image, and I'm wanting to try different lingerie. (TMI?) Maybe it's because I'm beginning to see my weight and inches going down (due to my resolution number two).

4. Coin Purse - This would be a perfect little bag to hold all my drugs (advil, tylenol, gravol, etc) in my purse.  I have an old little bag, but it's getting really old and the zipper doesn't seem to be working very well. This would be a perfect replacement!

5. Windmill - Who doesn't love windmills!!? This one is so cute!!

How to stay warm this winter :: feet

I find that keeping your feet warm helps keep your entire body warm in the winter. As long as I have my slippers on, I'm doing okay. Here are a few things you could use to keep your feet from falling off from the cold.
